Futures: 2032

Design plays a big role in how our world changes. This project is an exploration into a few of our possible near futures. Utilizing the Shell 2x2 matrix and some imaginative foresight, I put together a speculative design coffee table magazine for the year 2032.

Focusing on sustainability and de/centralization, the writings in this piece are extrapolations of the trends being brought about in the world. Some good, some questionable, all uncertain.

Listing out trends, uncertainties, and vectors for the coming decade, I compared and contrasted just a few of our future scenarios. Growth, transformation, and discipline are standard scenarios for thinking about how our future could play out.

Additionally, I've included implications for the design industry, my own personal design career strategic trajectory, and art curated to the scenario.
